Code of Everand is a multiplayer online game, which has been developed by the Department for Transport, to engage children making the transition from Primary to Secondary school, on the topic of road safety. The aim is that players will improve their road safety behaviour and apply what they have learned in the game, to the real world as a learned response. The Department for Transport’s aim is to reduce child pedestrian casualties and deaths among this age group by allowing young people to practice good road safety behaviours through a channel which is known to be very popular among those making the transition to Secondary school.
As a Pathfinder in Code Of Everand, you use your powers to safely cross the Spirit Channels, restoring peace where there is conflict, leveling up, making friends, and undertaking quests to uncover the secret of the mysterious Code Of Everand.
Characters in Everand are controlled entirely with the mouse. To move your character, click on the location to which you want to move. To view your character’s statistics, items, equipped gear or ‘traps, click on your character in the game or your portrait on the bottom of the screen. You can also click on other player’s characters to see their statistics and equipped gear. Likewise other players can click on your character to see your stats, etc.
Every Pathfinder has Concentration Points (CP) and Magic Points (MP). Concentration Points are what allow Pathfinders to safely cross the spirit channels. When Pathfinders run out of Concentration Points in the middle of a crossing they have to be rescued and taken back to the Academy, where they are revived with full Concentration Points at the cost of some of their gold. Your total Concentration Points are split evenly between left-hand concentration and right-hand concentration. Monsters that charge at you from the left will drain your left-hand Concentration Point total, while monsters that charge at you from the right will drain your right-hand Concentration Point total. If either your left-hand or right-hand Concentration Point total reaches zero, your Pathfinder will have to be rescued, so make sure you manage your concentration wisely. Concentration Points can be recovered by drinking red or purple tonics, visiting healing stones, leveling up, or using ‘traps which contain Shine gems.
Magic Points are used to cast spells, which Pathfinders use to help them cross the spirit channels. Each spell uses points from your magic point total. Magic points can be recovered by drinking blue or purple tonics, leveling up, or using ‘traps which contain Flood gems.

‘ME!’ Lulz – 29? That is a little old for a game where there isn’t even a proper chat or anything, mind you I’m 15 and even I’m too old for it (I play it anyways though). Goodness, I saw the advert for it on the CBBC channel! It really is aimed at a younger audience.
